A Country Market will be held on Saturday 7th July from 2 pm – 3 pm in the Methodist Hall.
Teas will be served.
The next meeting of the Moville Tidy Towns Committee will be held in Serenity House on Wednesday 4th July at 7pm.
This year we stand a good chance of a very good score in the Annual Tidy Towns Competition as many of the properties / areas where we lost points in the past have now been rectified.
We are currently appealing to all householders and businesses to improve the appearance of their properties by taking the following actions,
- Maintain exterior paintwork;
- Put up hanging baskets and window boxes;
- Clear litter from front and rear of their property.
It makes good business sense, a tidy town encourages visitors thereby increasing profits and improving job prospects.
We would also appreciate financial contributions from within the local community towards the purchase of chippings, plants, shrubs, compost, paint etc. The upkeep and maintenance of green areas and flower beds is undertaken by a small group of volunteers within the town and the related expenses are ever increasing.
Any contribution whatever the amount will be most welcome. A box has been left in the Moville Post Office for your donations or cheques made payable to Moville Tidy Town can be sent c/o Serenity House, Montgomery Terrace, Moville.
The next town clean will be held on Saturday 14th July 2007 starting at 10:30 in the car park on The Green. Bags and pickers will be available and everyone is invited to come along for as long as they can.

Serenity House Active Retirement Association
A very enjoyable trip to Wales took place from Serenity House, Moville at 7am arriving at the Celtic Royal Hotel, Caernarfon at 5pm. This six day tour was spent visiting many well known towns and beauty spots, namely Portmeirion Village and gardens, Chester, Llandudno and Caernarfon Castle. One of the most interesting visits was to the Natural Slate Museum situated in the Victorian workshops built in the shadow of Elidir mountain. The Serenity House Active Retirement joined up with the Killarney Active Retirement Group for the entertainment in the Hotel every night. It is hoped both groups will get together when the Serenity House group visit Killarney in October. A particular word of thanks to Bernard and McGonagle transport for providing such excellent services.
