Suicide awareness
The Inishowen Partnership is organising training with the HSE around suicide awareness. The HSE ASIST training will take place on Tuesday, June 26th and Wednesday June 27th from 10am – 3.30pm at Wesley Hall, Carndonagh. Places are limited; please contact Noreen/Denise at IPC 9362218 as soon as possible to book your place. ASIST is particularly appropriate to anyone who through the course of their work/hobby/sport/community work may be in contact with someone who is suicidal e.g. youth-workers, teachers, health service staff, firemen, ambulance workers, Gardai, clergy, sports coaches, community workers etc. Aside from these groups ASIST is also relevant to parents and just about any adult with an interest in this area. However, it is best if people attending ASIST have had some prior opportunity through ‘suicide awareness sessions’ to explore the issue of suicide. There is no charge for anyone attending ASIST.
