Business course
The Post Leaving Certificate Department (PLC) is offering a course in Business Administration with Tourism in the Academic Year 08/09 (FETAC LEVEL 50. The course consists of modules in Administration, Word and Text Processing, Accounting, Spreadsheets, Databases, and Communications. Work placement in local business firm is also included. PLC students may also repeat Leaving Certificate Maths while doing this course.
The course will be of interest to:
§ Students with a leaving cert who wish to progress to Third Level education but who have inadequate CAO points.
§ Individuals who wish to improve their chances of direct employment
§ Mature students wishing to return to education and gain a nationally recognised qualification.
Successful completions of our course this year may allow students to gain direct entry to Business degree courses in Institutes of Technology such as LYIT irrespective of their Leaving Certificate results. Students may also progress to degree courses in other disciplines,
In Ireland at present, up to three quarters of IT jobs advertised remain unfilled due to a shortage of skilled computer personnel. Since there are many computer modules on our course our students should have little difficulty in getting employment in this area.
Application forms with further information are available by phoning the school at 074 93 74260.
If you have information you wish to have included in these notes please telephone 9374725 or email the above address before 8pm on Thursday.
