Here Comes the Sun in Moville

After the recent successful TradFest in February, Moville is now gearing up for Ireland’s only festivals dedicated to music legends Bob Dylan and the Beatles music.
Titled “Stuck Inside of Moville” and “BeatlesFest on the Lough,” 10,000 leaflets have been printed with the DylanFest and BeatlesFest promoting both events with many distributed at the Paul McCartney concert at the O2 in Dublin in December.
DylanFest will take place from July 1 – 4 and BeatlesFest from August 12 – 15.
Organiser Gerry McLaughlin said he expected both events to be bigger and better than ever before.
He said: “We have created the www.DylanFest.com website which will help to bring extra people to Moville this year – and we have registered the festivals on all the top entertainment websites. We’re going to make a real effort to bring the crowds flocking to Moville this summer.”
He added: “A lot of background preparatory work has been done in getting high search engine positions for the two festivals. For instance, if you type DylanFest into Google, eight of the ten slots on the first page relate to the Moville DylanFest. It’s the biggest and best publicised of the world’s DylanFests, easily beating the ones in Detroit, upstate New York, California, Berlin, North Italy and Manchester. It’s a similar story for the BeatlesFest.”
BeatlesFest this year is to be called “Here Comes the Sun” after the hit Fab Four song.
Gerry explained: “We wanted to say to people ‘It’s been a long winter and the town’s taken a bit of an economic battering. Let’s brighten things up a bit and have some fun. The worst is over. The sun is coming’.”
He concluded: “It’s something positive to look forward to which will hopefully bring an economic boost to Moville and add further to Moville’s growing reputation as a fun town to visit.”
