Talented Malin Trio going for All-Ireland gold

Three talented youngsters from Malin Head will be hoping to strike gold when they compete in the All-Ireland final of the Youth Work Ireland variety competition being held in Limerick next month.
All four – members of Malin Head Youth Club - earned their place in the final of the prestigious competition when the wowed the judges at the area finals held in the Town Hall, Dundalk the weekend before last. They had previously reached the area finals by winning through at the county finals.
In LImerick, David McLaughlin will compete in the solo instrumental section while Breege Gallagher and Shaun Lafferty will contest the Spotlight category with their sketch entitled “There’s a Hole in the Bucket.”
David is the son of Willie Tom and Eileen McLaughlin, Magherard, Malin Head, Breege the daughter of Neil and Mary Gallagher, Lowerbraghey and Shaun the son of Liam and Dolores Lafferty, Kilnoxter, Malin Head.
It is expected the trio will be accompanied by a large number of family and friends when they compete in the All-Ireland final taking place on Saturday, March 13 next.
A spokesperson for Malin Head Youth Club said they were delighted with the success the three had brought to the club.
The spokesperson said: “Malin Head Youth Club committee is very proud that such a small club has once again reached an All-Ireland final.”
