ICARE thanks

Inishowen Childrens Autism (iCARE) would like to thank the organisers and anyone involved in the New Year Day swim in Culdaff for donating 3,175 euro. A spokesperson for the group said their commitment to helping children with Autism in our community is sincerely appreciated. Many thanks.

A Sponsored Walk is being organised in aid of St.Lukes Hospital Dublin and the Day Care unit of the Oncology Ward in Letterkenny Hospital. The Annual General Meeting of the Culdaff Water Sports Society will be held in the Culdaff Arms on April 22 at 9pm sharp. Everyone is most welcome.

 

International Dancing Championships

Congratulations to Odhran McLaughlin, Gleneely, Coyle School 1st in Hornpipe and 4th in Boys Championship under 13, at the all Ireland and International Dancing Championships in Castlebar.

Sponsored Walk

Sponsored Walk in aid of Alan Doherty fund on Sunday May 18 at 3pm. Leaving St.Marys Hall, Clonmany via Binion, Tullagh, Rusty Nail, and back to the hall for refreshments after. Death

The death occurred in Cornwall, England of Herbert McEldowney formerly Glack, Culdaff. He was 84 years of age. He is survived by his wife Beryl and son Glenn and family in Australia, daughter Susan and family in USA, also his sister Ruby, Carlisle, Lisburn. Sympathy is extended to his many nephews and nieces and his sister Ruby.

School Fundraising

At the Carndonagh Community School parents meeting on April 8 it was agreed that the parents group for the parish would raise funds for the community school by way of a voluntary envelope donation from parents who have children at the school. Envelopes will be distributed in all areas this coming week. We thank you in anticipation.

 

Active Retirement Meeting

Active retirement meeting on Wednesday, April 23 at 7.30pm in Serenity House. Guest speaker will be Billy Hazlette who will give a talk on fire safety.

 

Gleneely FC Lotto

The numbers drawn in the Gleneely FC Lotto last week were 9, 10, 18 and 24. Football Club lotto

Culdaff Football Club are introducing a new yearly lotto with a special discount price of 80 euro per year. New envelopes are available from Club Members and can be entered into the draw at any time and will last for a year. The next outing will be May bank holiday weekend and is limited to 32 members. It is an overnight trip to Mayo to play Westport (Saturday) and Bellerose (Sunday), before returning on Monday. Sympathy

Deep regret was occasioned by the death of Margaret Doherty formerly of Claggan, Culdaff who died last week in Dublin. We offer our sympathy to her sisters May and Ann, her brothers Benny and Eddie and the wider family circle. May her soul Rest in Peace.

Congratulations to Culdaff FC Club players John
McFeely and Dermot Diver who both played pivotal parts in Inishowen’s success over the Aul last Saturday at Caratra as Inishowen qualified for the semi finals.

 

Old Time Dancing
