Ulster Champion
Congratulations to Kieran O’Connor Farren, Slieveban, who won the Ulster Boxing Championship in his section, boy aged 12, 48 kg. Kieran was competing on Saturday last in the Ulster Championships, which were held in Coalisland, Co. Tyrone. This success qualifies Kieran for the All Ireland semi-finals which will be held before the end of March in the National Stadium in Dublin. Kieran is a member of Carndonagh ABC, and his family wish to express their thanks to his coaches, particularly John Mulhern and Liam Owen. Kieran is the son of Kelly Anne and Robert, Slieveban, Malin Head.
Enrol for Urblereagh NS
Enrolment Forms for Urblereagh National School are now available at the school’s temporary location at the GAA Centre, Malin. Completed forms should be returned by the 4 April.

Depression support
Feeling sad, anxious or low, not sleeping. You could be depressed and there is help available. Phone helpline on 1890303302 or www.aware.ie. There is also a support group for people who experience depression who meet on the second and fourth Monday of every month at 7.30pm in the nursing unit. Come along or phone 9735030 for more detail.
Carers’ Information
For information for those caring for an older person Drop in Clinics will be held on the last Monday of each month in Carndonagh Community Hospital. For further information contact 087 2770103.
Sportsfield draw
Malin Head Community Sports Committee runs a Draw for a weekly prize of 500 euro. The draw on Saturday 15 March was held in Farren’s Bar and the lucky winner was ticket number 82, Thomas Glackin, Ballygorman, Malin Head. Next week’s draw will be held in the Crossroads Inn.
Carndonagh Feis
The Carndonagh Feis will be held this year on Friday 20, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 of June. The féis syllabus will be sent out to all the local schools by mid-March and the closing date for entries will be Friday, May 2 and could all cups/shields be returned on or by that day to Karen Mc Laughlin Malin Road, Carndonagh 087 2987370 (200 yards down the Malin Road from the roundabout on left hand side with red front door.)
Confirmation
Confirmation will be conferred on sixth class pupils in the Malin parish on Sunday, April 13 at 11am in St Patrick’s Church, Aughaclay.
Senior Ladies GAA Training
Training for Senior Ladies is held on every Saturday at 5pm in the GAA Centre, Malin. All ladies welcome.
Whist
Whist is held every Monday night in Malin Head Community Hall at 8pm.

GAA membership
Malin GAA Club membership for 2008 is now due, and will be collected in the next few weeks. Membership is €10 per adult, €2 per minor and €20 for family membership. Club members will have priority for tickets for Donegal games. Kevin Farren will collect the Malin Head area; David Gallagher and Patrick Collins will do the Culdaff area; Patrick and Shaun Houton will do the Culkeeny/Glengad areas and Martin Mc Colgan will cover Malin Town.
GAA opening
The grand opening of the GAA Centre in Malin has been set for Sunday, May 4, the May Bank Holiday weekend. An Inishowen select side will play the Donegal senior team in honour of the occasion.
Computer classes
Inishowen Development Partnership is currently recruiting participants who have previously completed the Teach Programme for the opportunity to complete Fetac Level 4 (Computer Applications) from the comfort of their own homes.
