Sad Passing

The death took place recently after a long illness of Michael McDermott, St Finian’s Park Moville. Michael worked in Bonner’s Shop on the Malin Road for 34 years where he earned great respect from the public for his honest and hard working manner. The esteem in which Michael was held was shown by the large attendance at the removal from Carndonagh Hospital, all the people who called to his home and the huge crowd who attended the  Funeral Mass in St Pius X, followed by his burial in St Mary’s Church in Bocan. Michael was a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather. Deepest sympathy is extended to his dedicated wife Susan and his family Donal, Helene, Michael, Dermot, Joseph, Susan, Seamus, Maria, daughters in law and sons in law. May he rest in peace.

Michael’s Month’s Mind Mass takes place on Saturday, February 23 at 7.30pm in St Pius X.

 

Carndonagh Feis

The Carndonagh Feis will be held this year from Friday, June 20 to Sunday, June 22.We look forward to another good year. The feis syllabus will be sent out to all the local schools by mid March and the closing date for entries will be Friday, May 2. Could All Cups/Shields be returned on or by that date to Karen MCLaughlin Malin Road Carndonagh (200yards down the Malin Raod from the roundabout on left hand side with red door). Greencastle Resource Centre

School enrolment

Children’s morning

A children’s morning takes place every Saturday morning from 11am –1pm with music, drama, quiz and games. Guitar classes and young teens drama starting soon. For more information call 074 93811104

 

Greencastle Regatta

Anyone interested in the Greencastle Regatta for 2008 can attend a meeting tonight (Wednesday, February 20) in the Maritime Musuem at 8pm. They wish to have a full range of activities this year and also to bring back some of the old ones too. They ask that all businesses and community groups  to have a representative attend this meeting.

 

Slave auction

A concert and slave auction will be held in The Greenbank Hall, Quigley’s Point on March 8 at 7.30pm. Admission is 10 euro including refreshments. Proceeds from the concert will go to the Rev David Nixon who will be there and give a short presentation on his work in The Chodort Skills Training Centre.

 

New Course

Names are being taken for a six-week course on coping with depression and anxiety management which is due to commence in Serenity House Moville. For further information phone 074 9382945

A jobs fair will take place in The Inishowen Gateway Hotel on Wednesday, March 5 from 10.30am –6.30pm. Employers from Inishowen, Derry and Letterkenny who are looking for staff will be there. Six-day trip

Serenity Hose Active Retirement Association are organising a six-ay trip to Wexford on May 25. For further information contact Serenity House on 074 9382945. Seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so book early to avoid disappointment. Also a bus is being organised to The Highland Birthday Bash which will be held in March. Tickets can now be collected at Serenity House.
