Your help is needed

Daffodil Day in aid of the Irish Cancer Society will  take place on Friday, March 7. The local organisers in Carndonagh are appealing for volunteers to help sell daffodils for an hour or two on that day. We are also looking for people to donate fresh daffodils. Charity shop closing

In aid of the Destitute in India, in Bridge Street, Carndonagh is closing on Friday. Would you like to be sleeping outside in this cold weather? This is your opportunity to pick up a bargain and help the homeless at the same time. Please support this worthy cause.

 

Grand variety concert

In aid of Lough Swilly Lifeboat in Inishowen Gateway Hotel on Thursday, March 6, starting at 8pm sharp. Compere Packie Keeney – Highland Radio, guest artists include Patsy O’Hagan, Gateway Civic Choir, Deirdre Bonner, Brendan Quinn, Seamus McGee. Admission 10 euro.

Charity 25 card drive

This will take place in Malin GAA Centre this Saturday, February 23  at 8.30pm, two rounds at 10 euro per round including super. All proceeds to Bothair to buy cows, goats and hens for poor African families. Prizes are Easter bumper hampers, Easter eggs and other prizes on the night.

 

St Patrick’s Day Parade

The place to be is Moville on Monday, March 17 at 2.30pm. Open-air concert before and after parade.  Floats welcome from all over northwest.  Assemble 2.00pm in car park.  For further details contact Eamon McLaughlin 07493 82327.

Table quiz

There will be a table quiz in Tully’s Bar is a fundraiser for the Irish Wheelchair Association/Cormac Skinnader Grand Canyon Walk March 2008 and will take place on Friday, February 29.

 

 

Carndonagh Feis

The Feis will take place this year on Friday, June 20, Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22. We look forward to another good year. The Feis syllabus will be sent out to all the local schools by mid-march and the closing date for entries will be Friday, May 2 and could all cups/shields be returned on or by that day to Karen Mc Laughlin Malin Road, Carndonagh – 0872987370 (200 yards down the Malin Road from the roundabout on left hand side with red front door.)

During the rest of Lent, Mass each day will be at 8am and 10am except Friday, which will be 8am and 8pm, there will be no morning Mass on Saturday. Trocaire boxes available at Church doors.

 

Sad deaths

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the late Donal McElhinney, Glack, who died in St. James Hospital in Dublin during the week and to Tony Doherty (Urris) Tiernaleague, who died at home. May they rest in peace.

St Patrick’s missionaries

St Patrick’s missionaries wish to thank everyone who supported their collecting stamps over Christmas we would be grateful for your continued support over Easter.  Boxes will be distributed during Holy Week and collected a few weeks later.  Please keep any used stamps between now and then.

The winning numbers in the club mini lotto were 8, 21, 6 and 22. There was no jackpot winner.
